I am now in Chiang Mai, Thailand, exploring a new Buddhist temple to meditate in each day. The sacred art here is amazing. outstanding. so devoted.
CM is a lot bigger than I thought. Traffic is crazy, just like Bangkok. I am a bit overwhelmed and really craving some nature time. My hotel, Vanilla Place, is OK except for the hairs in the bathroom. I asked repeatedly for them to clean it. Oh, yes, it is clean now. Really? How come those hairs are still there? OY.
There’s also plenty of wifi, plastic water bottles and diesel fumes. Such is life on Earth right now, at least here in SE Asia.
I’m feeling very grateful to be on this journey!
Here are some photos. The young monk is a man named Bim (beem). It was perfect that I met him. He used to be a wild bad boy and got put in juvenile hall at 17. He was given the choice to be a monk for 1 month and he decided to try it. He kind of liked it, so later tried it for 3 months. Then he tried it again and stayed with it for 3 years…lovely person. He is very committed to his practice. A perfect story to tell my kids at the juvenile hall!
May you have a day full of art, peace and new beginnings…love, Ana
